Largy Tweed Cap: Mocha/Reeve - Brown Herringbone w/ Ear Flaps & Tie Up Leather Straps

Made in Ireland our ear flap cap is truly an original unique design.

The Largy Cap was traditionally worn by the peat cutters on the West Coast of Ireland, particularly in the Gaeltacht regions where the harsh beaten weathers of the Atlantic coast made it an ideal cap to combat the raging winds and rains in their hard working life. Originally the earflaps were secured around the neck with cord to keep it in place. Carnaween has now re-designed the look for a more modern demographic using leather straps to tie up and down the flaps.

The overall style and finish has been remodelled to cater for many outdoor pursuits such as fishing, shooting, hill walking in addition to wearing the cap as an accessory in daily life.

The Largy is 100% hand made in Ireland in the heart of the Gaeltacht in Co Donegal, Ireland. Using Donegal Tweed which is 100% pure new wool, the body of the cap is fused with a quality inter fusible lining which helps protects the structure and protects the longevity of the piece. Not only is the tweed itself fused but we pride ourselves on fusing the quality satin lining which is used on the inside of the cap. In addition, the leather ‘Carnanween’ name tag placed on the side of the cap helps distinguishes this from any other on the market.
